A San Franciscan, Bruce A. Clemens received his B.A. degree (with high honors) with a major in mathematics from Michigan State University in 1967. In 1971 Bruce was awarded an M.S. degree with a major in computer science from Stanford  University and earned his J.D from UCLA Law School in 1974.

Bruce was a member of the Moot Court Honors Program, was recognized with a Distinguished Advocate Award and was Recipient of the Wilson Scholarship. Bruce was admitted to the California State Bar in 1974 and is a State Board Certified Specialist in Family Law. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America. He is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Register of Preeminent Lawyers with an AV rating and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
